Biographie
Beer Bear is a folk-metal band, whose music compbines perky Nordic riffs and Slavic folk music. Beer Bear is the tale about the adventures of cheerful bears, about their joys and sorrows, and about mead flowing like water... Embraced by lyrical flute and violin parts, hardened by powerful guitar riffs, these tales will take you to the magic forest where everything happens. Frenzy dance, fairy-tale atmosphere and high quality metal - that's what we give to the audience with our greatest pleasure! The history of Beer Bear band begins in the February of 2008 when vocalist Alexander Vagabur Vagabov, bass guitarist Kirill Sventoyar Nikeev, guitarist Konstantin Panda Shit’kyov and drummer Roman Ratimir Panteleev started to play pagan metal in the band Nordheim. Inspired by the music of Finntroll, Ensiferum and Korpiklaani the musicians worked on their own songs until May 2008 when it was decided to change the style and the concept. In August the band was renamed to Beer Bear, combining the “bear” lyrics theme with heavy punk-sound and folk elements. In September the guys started recording the first demo. It’s quality was quite far from perfect but it all started than. Flutist Andrey Lyubko and violinist Alyona Goryacheva joined the band after demo recording. Since that moment, the band emphasized highly qualified and hard folk-metal part in their style rather than crazy punk elements. In February 2009 the band recorded a second demo on BombusRecords. It consisted of 2 songs: “Fisticuffs“ and “Bears’ March”. After that Beer Bear began to give concerts actively. In May 2009 the guys started to record the first album. At the same time during all the 2009 year Beer Bear was successfully giving concerts with such leading bands of the Russian folk music as Rarog, Kalevala and Troll Gnet Yel. In February 2010 Andrey Lyubko and Alyona Goryacheva left the band because of the difference of musical views. Flutist Anna Zuks Zagrebaeva and violinist Anna Anathema Erilina took their places. The band resumed recording the album with fresh energy involving such high-skilled musicians as Pavel Zhdanovich, Alexandra Rys’ Sidorova (Rarog, ex – Valley Of The Moon), Ksenia Markevich (Kalevala), Alexander Shmel Shvilyov (Rarog, Kalevala), Denis Kvedulf (Mystterra). They work at full pressure, Kirill Sventoyar Nikeev tries himself as a keyboard player and percussionist, and as a result new arrangements of old songs came into existance. In March Beer Bear plays a concert together with a drop-dead band Satanakozyol. After that a long period of musical vacuum. In May Anna Zagrebaeva leaves the band. In July Alexander Vagabov and Roman Panteleev also have to leave the band because of some private reasons. Anna Erilina and Kirill Nikeev worked actively in their side-project with a mysterious name “Top’ ”(Swamp) (Black-Folk Metal). In August Kirill Beard Kasatkin, a new drummer, joined the band and they all started to rehearse with a triple rage. Kirill Nikeev tried on the leading-vocalist’s role and Alexander Vagabov and Alexandra Sidorova became sessional vocalists. In October the long-expected album named “Myod” ("Mead") was released by Sound Age prod., it was fully recorded and mixed at Bombus Records . In November a violin player Evgeniya Murka Sizova and guitarist Pavel Zhdanovich join the band. At the moment Beer Bear is preparing to record an Internet single and new concerts, overcoming all the difficulties on their way, heading for the future victories and endless horizons of the musical ocean!
