Biographie
Starting early 2012, Jim Poggi found drummer, William Newman. They hit it off but recognized the need for a complete lineup. In spring of 2012, Poggi found second guitarist, Joe Gruemmer, and Joe brought along bassist, Logan Sloan. They explored their sound with the release of their first EP, Too Little Too Late, with vocals done by their then vocalist, Nicholas Montgomery. After this release, You're Too Kind parted ways with Montgomery, and further explored different styles of music and writing, eventually finding Seth Hanson to fill out the vocal position. They are currently recording a new EP that is a huge leap from their freshmen EP. Each member brings something to the table. Poggi was the former guitar player for Maryland based band, Due To Get Even. While DTGE's sound is similar to that of bands like All Time Low, Poggi brings in hot metal licks and squealing highs that definitely make YTK's sound unique. Gruemmer has a lot of experience as well, and is able to bring out great lead lines that twist and layer themselves among the musical wall of sound that is YTK. Sloan was formerly a guitar player, but now plays bass with such fluidity and ease that it seems a natural fit. Newman has played in various settings, including jazz and classic rock, and now lays down the rhythm for YTK with rocking grooves and huge fills. To top it all off, the addition of Seth Hanson rounds out YTK. Hanson is highly influenced by heavier stylings, but his powerful, low voice, with its rough edge, may very well be the icing on YTK. YTK doesn't just want to bring its music to listeners, it wants to bring an experience. You can't just listen to their music, you need to experience it. Playing live is what they thrive on. They will be in a city near you soon and it will be the experience of a lifetime. They hope to see you there!
