Schwarze Wut

It started in 1994 when Torstein asked A. if he`d be interested to continue the musical path in a new band since the initiator of their previous band Fjell decided to continue on his own. Things were settled fast and already in early `95 their first demo "foelg nordlyset" was spread around, receiving some good reviews but the band hadn`t really found itself before their second release "Reisen til den hoyes hall" (`96) which is still today by many refered to be the best release of the band though the following EP had same style and good sound. "Reisen.." also got the band a contract with Solistitium Records nd even though having already 4 songs ready the album was never to be fulfilled since the band broke up due to the only two members having too much diffculties coming along with each other at that point of time. Still before the EP release, the band decided to change their bandname to Pest. Reason was that people just didn`t understand that the choice of a norwegian bandname was meant to be nothing more than a tribute to the pioneers of early nineties Black metal, a straight statement towards their influences. The band grew tired of explaining themselves over and over again and even record-labels refusing to sign them for no other reason than the bandname. Later on also this turned out to be fatal, since other bands had meanwhile chosen the same name. After the break-up in 98 and finding together again in `99 (?), a temporary solution was found by slightly changing the name to Die Pest. Long-time session-bassist Kontrast joined the band and together they released "Armageddon", limited to only 20 official pieces featuring 8 blackthrashing songs. In 2005 a decision was made that a new name should finally start a new era: Schwarze Wut. With six new raging songs being ready to be released by Grievantee the band once more raise from the grave... Also they still intend to record and release those 4 songs which were supposed to be part of their first full-length back in 97/98. As a preview they included a very necro-sounding demo-version of the only complete song "Feuerkreis" on the kind of best-of Album ”`til Pest” now released on Obscure Abhorrence Productions, where you`ll find a compilation of songs from their releases (partly remastered or otherwise sound-improved) plus an unreleased track from the '98 Pest EP and a live recording of the second demos song "Die Macht des Todes", when Nordlys had the honour to play along with Nagelfar, Mightiest and Lunar Aurora, 11.4.1997.
