Cryptic Forest

It is not really known (or at least no one is sure about it!) when this project found its way into the world of the Black Forest in southwest of Germany. During the years of 2003/04 Simon Schillinger started to experiment with some ideas he had and created some songs for this so called project CRYPTIC FOREST. Time passed without considering that this “melodic black metal” project could turn out into something more serious. After Schillinger formed the Pagan Metal band FINSTERFORST with some of his friends in the end of 2004 he put CRYPTIC FOREST on ice even more. It took nearly three more years until Cornelius “Wombo” Heck was asked to join this project as a drummer. With Manuel Blom (vocals), Peter Hamm (guitars) and Sebastian “AlleyJazz” Scherrer (keys) the line-up of CRYPTIC FOREST was nearly completed. In summer 2008 a two-track-demo was recorded in the Iguana Studios in Buchheim near Freiburg.
