Belakiss

Belakiss are kicking rock and roll out of the closet. For years, the British music scene has been dominated by the twin, yet opposing, forces of Indie and Electro-pop neither of which would describe Belakiss. Belakiss are old souls - their music harks back to the smoky clubs of sixties West London, free from the modern-day shackles of backing tracks and gimmicks. Ben Sheldrick's whiskey-stained howls compliment Ruari Meehan's sweet melodies. These two have been song-writing partners for a while now and with Tatia Starkey's beautifully crafted, dirty bass lines teamed with Alfie Milner's dynamic beats you have Belakiss' unique sound. Belakiss in this form have only been around since 2011 and in that time have had an amazing couple of years, they've played Fuji Rocks, Summersonic, Camden Crawl, Standon Calling, Camp Augusta, Join ALive Festivals and supported Kasabian on their hugely successful International tour. To top it all off, in 2011 they had a number 1 in the Japanese international air play charts! It’s fair to say the future looks bright for this young and aspiring band. Pay close attention.
