Deez Nuts started after the breakup of Australian metalcore band I Killed The Prom Queen, of which JJ Peters was the drummer. The name comes from a Dr. Dre song, "Deeez Nuuuts," the sixth track from his 1992 album The Chronic. In 2007, Deez Nuts embarked on their first tour tour of Australia. Then in January 2008 he toured with Silverstein; also on that tour were Set Your Goals, The Amity Affliction and Capeside.[2] In September 2008, Deez Nuts began a second tour of Australia, joined I Killed The Prom Queen alumni Michael Crafter's new band Confession. The tour was called 'Back on the Streets Tour'. Then, in October, Deez Nuts toured with Bring Me The Horizon on their European tour along with The Red Shore and Ignominious Incarceration.[3] He provides guest vocals on the track "Football Season is Over" which features on Bring Me The Horizon's Suicide Season album as well as 'Stairway to Hell' which features on The Amity Affliction's "Severed Ties" album. Deez Nuts found permanent members in 2008. During the successful tour overseas, Peters was also joined by ex-I Killed The Prom Queen brother Sean Kennedy. The lineup of Sean, Ty (Adelaide), Stu (Melbourne) is now official. The band recently shot a video for the song 'I Hustle Everyday'. The video was released on March 23, 2009. During the last leg of the Drunk And Disorderly tour, Ty was unable to perform due personal issues regarding his family. Ryan Burt from The Amity Affliction filled in during these shows. Jon Green from The Red Shore filled in for the entire tour, while JJ commented on Ty's position and brief absence, no comment on Sean's status in band had been made. It is now understood that Jon Green has filled Sean Kennedy's position in the band, this made clear by "promotional" band photo's posted on JJ Peter's blog. JJ also stated in blunt magazine a short time later that "jon is pretty much in the band, but his wife threw out his passport by mistake" this explains his absence from their European tour. On September 21, 2009, the song "Free Music" was released online for free download. The song is a critique on the current Australian hardcore scene.
