Calliophis

CALLIOPHIS was founded in the summer of 2007. Before the band came up, three of the members had already played together in a death metal band. After the split the new project created a totally new sound which was still on the basis of death metal elements. Although it took the band a few rehearsals to find their new sound initially … and a slow, but heavy madness called CALLIOPHIS was born. The songs are a combination of human tragedies and old fairy tales. In spring 2008, the band recorded their first album “Doomsday”, which was released in October 2008. CALLIOPHIS had many live gigs in Germany, France and Belgium and also shared the stage with bands like Toner Low, Spancer, shEver, Mourning Beloveth and The 11th Hour. In 2010 the band played at the legendary Doom Shall Rise Festival and hit the road for the first “Triumvirat of Doom” Tour together with their French friends of Children of Doom and The Bottle Doom Lazy Band.
